City-wide initiative to count Houston homeless

A huge initiative to count the homeless in Houston is kicking off. The count will take place over the course of the next four days. It has hundreds of volunteers covering 160 square miles. In recent years, they believe fewer people are spending the night in the street and, there’s a 46% drop in homelessness since 2011 and last year's count of 4600, a 14% decrease from the year before, in addition, 64% of the homeless individuals counted spent the night in shelters. So they are getting help.
