Anti abortion activist indicted by Harris County Grand Jury make court appearance

The anti-abortion activist indicted by a Harris County grand jury made his first court appearance today. California resident David Daleiden was booked and released by the Harris County Sheriff's office. From there, the smiling 27-Year old made two court appearance stemming from his Planned Parenthood court case.  Daleiden was charged with selling or attempting to buy human organs and tampering with a governmental document - a fake id. This is after his alleged undercover investigation to embarrass planned parenthood here in Houston. Last week a grand jury indicted Daleiden and a second person he worked with in their attempt as anti-abortion activists to show planned parenthood was allegedly selling body parts. Daleiden was released on $3000 total bond and was offered pretrial diversion by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.  But he and his attorney's vow to settle for nothing less than a full dismissal.

Yesterday Daleiden's partner in this case Sandra Merritt was booked and released on her charges related t o the Planned Parenthood Case.  Daleiden is expected back in court on March 28 if there isn't some type of deal reached.
