National Prescription Drug Take Back Day collection sites
HOUSTON (FOX 26) - National Prescription Drug Take Back Day events allow Americans to bring their unused or expired prescribed medications to be disposed of properly and prevent them from being distributed to others. The Drug Enforcement Administration initiative helps addresses the public safety and public health matter of prescription drug addiction.
6.4 million Americans abused controlled prescription drugs, according to the 2015 National Survey on Drug Use and Health. The study shows that a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet.
