Two suspects charged after 13-yr-old girl shot through window of north Houston home

- UPDATE 1/11/2019: Investigators say that two suspects have been charged in the shooting that injured a 13-year-old girl. Steven LeBlanc, 28 and Allison Strong-Matyas, 19 have both been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Deputies say a 13-year-old girl was shot through the window of her home in north Harris County Thursday afternoon.

The shooting occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Mealine Street near the N. Sam Houston Parkway and Aldine Westfield.

The Sheriff's Office says the girl was sitting on a bed in the home with her sister when someone fired a single shot through the window, striking the teen in the chest.

The girl was taken to the hospital where she is said to be in stable condition.

Authorities do not have anyone in custody at this time. They are asking for the public's help identifying a white truck driven by a male in a red hoodie in connection with the shooting.

The sheriff's office says it appears the house was targeted, but the reason why the home may have been targeted is not yet clear. Authorities say it appears the shooter drove up to the house, stopped, fired one shot, then left the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Harris County Sheriff's Office at 713-221-6000.
