HOUSTON, Texas (FOX 26) - A candle light vigil was held Saturday night for a man that died in a hit-and-run crash off Tidwell near Mesa.
The crash happened on January 19th near field at about 8 pm, Paul Jackson was walking on the sidewalk when he was hit and killed. The driver took off leaving family and friends are left wondering who could have done such a horrible thing. Saturday night at candlelight vigil and balloon release was held in his honor.
Shara Potts, Paul’s sister says, “he was his life was taken so soon and we just kind of wanted to take a moment of silence to just not so much mourn his death but to you know kind of give ourselves peace about the situation”.
Timothy Potts, Paul’s brother in/law says, “we are here his family his friends everyone here to show their love for him”.
“Just for that person to just hit him and didn’t stop you know anything, they could’ve stopped, but they didn’t stop because they just kept going a whole life just laying on the side of the road”, says another one of Paul’s sisters, Lakendra Adams.
Jackson leaves behind a son. Family members are asking anyone that lives nearby to check their surveillance cameras for footage from January 19th at around 8 pm. Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
