HOUSTON (FOX 26)
Before Dr. Paul Osteen arrived to Lakewood Church to help his brother, Pastor Joel Osteen with his ministry, he was a doctor in Little Rock, Arkansas. Even with his involvement at Lakewood Church, he still had a desire to practice medicine.
The Mobilizing Medical Missions Conference 2016 will take place at Lakewood Church from Feb. 19 until Feb. 20. Dr. Osteen developed the conference after observing the extremely limited resources and amount of medical personnel in developing nations compared to the amount of medical resources available in Houston. He says the purpose of the conference is to inspire and connect people with their passion, and bring medical professionals together to make a difference.
Dr. Osteen's wife and children have traveled with him on previous medical missions. His wife Jennifer is a nurse.
Participants do not have to be working in the medical field since there are many areas that anyone can make a difference such as in helping to bring clean water, orphan care and education. For more information about the conference, visit https://www.m3missions.com/
"I have seen men and women who are in the trenches; doing what they can do to help people in extremely resource-limited settings," said Dr. Osteen. "We don't have to have all the answers; we just have to do our part. I believe your heart will be moved with compassion and you too will be inspired to do what you can to help."
