HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Houston police say a man has been taken into custody after stabbing his mother to death and seriously injuring his father.
Officers arrived at around 5 p.m. Friday to a home on Westella Drive near Attlee Drive in west Houston where they say a man in his late twenties stabbed his mother and father, who are both believed to be in their late seventies.
The suspect's father was able to escape to a neighbor's home and contact 911.
"The suspect, the son, killed his mother and assaulted his father who is now in the hospital in ICU," says Houston Police Department Assistant Chief Wendy Baimbridge. "There is a history of violence and drug usage from the suspect's end and so he is arrested and right now, he wasn't living at the residence and he was arrested without incident when officers arrived."
