Teen stabbed near southwest Houston school identified

The 14-year-old stabbed near Jane Long Academy in southwest Houston has been identified as Brian Angel. Police say Angel was stabbed in the head Wednesday around 4:30 p.m. after arguing with another 14-year-old over a brownie. The suspect fled.

Angel died Friday. His aunt tells FOX 26 he loved soccer, music, and, above all, his family. She adds before Angel lost consciousness he kept saying he was going to be okay. She says his last words were directed at his older brother -- telling him to take care of their youngest brother, mom, and dad.

Late Friday, Houston Police announced they arrested a 14-year-old suspect in connection with the fatal stabbing and charged him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Sources tell FOX 26 the suspect’s father was also arrested and the father was in possession of a weapon at the time of the arrest.

The Houston Independent School District says they’ll have counselors at Jane Long Academy on hand for students this coming week and when they return from Spring Break.
