Santa Fe shooting suspect Dimitrios Pagourtzis charged with Capital Murder

- The suspected shooter in the horrific Santa Fe High School shooting has been identified as Dimitrios Pagourtzis.

The 17-year-old student has been arrested and charged with Capital Murder and Aggravate Assault of a Peace Officer. He is being held without bond in Galveston County, Texas.

At least eight people have been killed, the majority of them students, and several have been injured in the shooting.

Pagourtzis obtained the two weapons he used in the attack from his father, who legally owned them.

He's said to have used a .38 pistol and a shotgun. Some people reported that the shotgun was sawed off.

Several people took screenshots from Pagourtzis' social media pages before they were taken down, showing disturbing posts.

He also posted photos of a trench coat and a shirt that reads "Born To Kill," which witnesses say he was wearing at the time of the shooting.

Dustin Severin, a junior at Santa Fe High School said Pagourtzis is "really quiet. He mostly kept to himself ... He didn’t really talk to anyone." Severin claims he passed Pagourtzis in the hallway before the shooting happened and didn't think he had that "hatred in him."

A person of interest in the school shooting has been detained and is being questioned by authorities.
