HPD shoot robbery suspect, shutting down Bellaire Blvd

- Houston police shot a robbery suspect in southwest Houston Tuesday morning, shutting down Bellaire Boulevard.

Authorities say the suspect robbed a CVS in Southside Place with a screwdriver and a pair of scissors.

Then he hopped on a bus and went into a McDonald's on Bellaire near Chimney Rock, where he tried to rob customers and the restaurant manager.

Houston and Bellaire police responded to the calls from customers, and found the suspect, who is described as Hispanic male.

Two officers tried to taze the suspect, but he was unfazed.

That's when a police officer shot at the suspect more than once.

The suspect was transported to Ben Taub, where he was pronounced dead from the injuries.

The intersection of Bellaire and Chimney was blocked Tuesday morning due to the heavy police presence.
