Autopsy to determine if remains found in condo related to missing man case

An autopsy will determine if the skeletal remains found under a mattress in a southwest Houston condo are related to the case of a man who has been missing since March.

According to authorities, a man who was buying the condo was cleaning out the unit but noticed a smell and called deputies. Deputies responded to the scene and found a body wrapped up and concealed under a mattress.

Investigators say the case could be related to a missing 24-year-old man who lived at the condo. Carlos Rios was reported missing on March 1. Deputies have not determined if the body is the missing person or someone else.

Deputies have not determined if the person whose remains were discovered was male or female. An autopsy will be conducted to identify the person.
