3-year-old Texas City boy found safe after reported missing

An Amber Alert has been canceled after it was issued Wednesday morning for a 3-year-old boy reported missing from Texas City. Police say that the little boy,  Alexzander Clayton Russell was safely recovered Wednesday morning near Scottish Inn in Galveston.

Authorities said Wednesday morning that the biological mother of the child originally reported the child as "being kidnapped." At 8:20 Wednesday morning, Russell was recovered in Galveston, TX. The child was in the grandmother's care at the time of recovery, and the child appeared to be in good health. Texas City police detectives are actively investigating the incident. No charges have been filed at this time.

When the Amber Alert was first issued, investigators said that Russell was abducted by a suspect, Beverly Mickens at 9 p.m. on Friday. Initial Amber Alert details include: 

The child has blue eyes, blonde hair, weighs about 28 pounds and is 2 ft 8 inches tall. Police said Russell has a birthmark on his stomach. 

Mickens is described as a 39-year-old white female with brown hair and brown eyes. Mickens weighs about 115 pounds and is 5 feet 5 inches tall. There is a tattoo on her left arm with the words, "Lil Don."  

Police believe they are traveling in a tan Chevy Suburban with temporary tags.
