Employee charged for hitting Alief student with car, crashing into another vehicle: HPD
HOUSTON - Alief ISD has confirmed that an employee has been charged with aggravated assault after hitting a student with her car and then crashing into another vehicle.
The incident happened at Hastings High School at around 2:40 p.m. on Wednesday.
Police say the student was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.
Chinyere Iheagwam, 56, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the crash.
Police say she was driving her vehicle at a high rate of speed in a school zone and struck the 18-year-old pedestrian.
