With help from FOX 26 News contributor and food talk radio show host Cleverley Stone, Halloween treats can be healthy and fun. Harold Kelly from Mélange Catering & Special Events demonstrates how to prepare tangerine pumpkins, spooky bananas, smelly cheese fingers and gross apple mouths that are all made from fruits and vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 1-2 Bunch Bananas (ripest you can find)
  • 1-2 Bag Tangerines (easy to peel is best)
  • 2 Stalks Celery
  • 1 Bag of Sweetened Chocolate Chips
  • 1 Bag Red Apples
  • 1 Bag Green Apples
  • 2 Bags mini marshmallows
  • 1 Jar smooth peanut butter
  • 1 Can almond slivers
  • 1 Flat of Strawberries
  • 1 Bag Sunflower Seeds (unsalted)
  • 1 Bag White Cheese Snack Sticks
  • 2 Green Bell Peppers

Assemble bananas with chocolate chips to make ghost faces (or cheerios)

Assemble tangerines peeled completely with a celery topper

Assemble green apples with either slivered almonds or sunflower seeds and red jam or peanut butter/almond butter.  Use sliced strawberries for the tongue sticking out.

Assemble red apples by slicing them and filling with peanut butter and using small marshmallows for teeth.

Assemble cheese sticks with green bell pepper fingernails.
