HOUSTON (FOX 26) - While there are still more than 100 days to go before voters in Texas cast their ballots for candidates campaigning statewide, some fresh poll numbers have attracted mid-summer attention.
A voter survey published by conservative news outlet Breitbart Texas has both Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Senator Ted Cruz leading their races by 10 and 9 percent respectively.
The races tighten significantly down the ballot with Democrat Mike Collier trailing incumbent Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick by just two points and Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton up by four percentage points over Justin Nelson.
