HOUSTON (FOX 26) - A mass shooting in Annapolis, Maryland with a local newspaper staff as the target ended with four journalists and a co-worker killed at the hands of a suspect with a long-running vendetta against the publication.
No segment of society is immune from such sudden and vicious attacks, but the question remains, has President Donald Trump’s persistent vitriol aimed at so-called “fake news” sources put lives in danger? Has his demonizing of journalists as “America’s enemy” made life more dangerous for the ones who report the news?
President Trump offered condolences on Friday and said the attack “shocked the conscience of our nation and filled our hearts with grief.”
