Following Harvey, there will be less polling locations available in Harris County for Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
During a news conference on Wednesday, Harris County Clerk Stan Stanart reminded voters that ballots have already been sent in the mail for anyone who requested one.
The amount of available polling locations has decreased from 765 to 735 since the county was forced to consolidate more than 30 locations.
Because of the decrease in available polling locations, Stanart strongly encouraged voters to do their civic duty early since all of them can accept early voters while Election Day polling places are limited specifically to where voters live.
The early voting period will begin on Monday, Oct. 23 and end on Friday, Nov. 3.
Registered voters who were forced to evacuate from their homes and have not been able to return to them can request a mail ballot at http://harrisvotes.com/.
Voters will still need to provide a form of photo identification at all polling places.
