KINGWOOD (FOX 26) - A Union Pacific Railroad bridge on Hamblen Road was damaged Thursday afternoon during an incident with a passing train.
Hamblen Road is currently impassable and traffic should take alternate routes through Kingwood Drive and Northpark Drive. Kingwood HPD and UPRR officers are working on clearing containers from the scene. Union Pacific says the bridge will be out of service for a few days.
No injuries were reported and the train did not derail. The damaged occurred when the bridge developed a low spot and was struck by a passing train which caused a few rails to begin to disconnect.
