University of Houston ranked No. 8 by Associated Press
HOUSTON (FOX 26) - The University of Houston is ranked No. 8 in the final Associated Press Top 25 College Football poll.
It is the highest the Cougars have been ranked by the AP's final poll in 36 years.
UH finished the 1979 season ranked No. 5
In Head Coach Tom Herman’s first year on the job, UH went 13-1, wrapping up the season with a 38-24 win over Florida State in the Peach Bowl.
In what ESPN calls its “way-too-early poll” for 2016, the University of Houston is ranked 10th in the nation.
In one year on the job Herman has turned the Cougars into a Top 10 program.
