University of Houston close to naming new head football coach

According to college football sources the University of Houston’s search for its next head football coach is winding down and closure is expected by this weekend.

The sources said UH officials have been vetting five candidates: UH interim coach Todd Orlando, UH offensive coordinator Major Applewhite, former LSU coach Les Miles, Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin and Oklahoma offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley.

According to the sources Riley is no longer a candidate and is not under consideration for the job.
