UH assistant basketball coach takes over women's program at Prairie View A&M

Prairie View A&M did not have to go far to find the school’s seventh head coach for the Lady Panthers basketball team since its inception in 1981.

Prairie View A&M named University of Houston assistant coach Ravon Justice as the new coach of the Lady Panthers on Tuesday, replacing Dawn Brown who was not retained last month.

Justice, who had been an assistant with the UH program since 2010, was also named the school’s recruiting coordinator the following season.

Before joining UH Justice was an assistant at Houston Baptist from 2005-2010.

She was also as an assistant with Grayson County College during the 2004-05 season.

As a college player Justice spent one season each at Nicholls State, Clarendon College, Washington State and wrapped up her playing career at University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.

At Clarendon College Justice was named Junior College All-American and Western Junior College Athletic Conference Player of the Year.

At University of Science and Arts she was named to the All-Sooner Athletic Conference team.
