Ty Lawson apologizes in statement regarding suspension

Ty Lawson apologized in a statement on Saturday regarding his two-game suspension.

The Rockets point guard received his punishment from the league for his DUI arrest in January in Denver. He is also dealing with a separate DUI arrest from July in Los Angeles.

"I apologize to my teammates," Lawson said after Saturday's morning shootaround. "I did what I did... now, I'm paying the consequences. So I just want to apologize to everybody. Two games off and I'll be ready when I get back."

In his first year with the Rockets after being acquired in an offseason trade with the Nuggets, Lawson is averaging 5.9 points and 4.2 assists in 26 games.
