Texans releasing Arian Foster

NFL sources confirmed the Houston Texans are releasing running back Arian Foster.

Foster played in just four games last season after suffering a torn Achilles tendon, rushing for 163 yards and one touchdown.

He played in only eight games in 2013, also because of injuries.

Regardless, Foster was a terrific signing by Rick Smith, executive vice president and general manager.

Joining the Texans in 2009 as an undrafted free agent, Foster went to the Pro Bowl four times and was Associated Press First-Team All-Pro in 2010.

Foster has rushed for 6472 yards during his career, scoring 54 touchdowns while averaging 4.5 yards per carry.

He also has 249 receptions for 2268 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Foster was scheduled to make $6.5 million in 2016.
