When the Glenda Dawson High School Eagles football team faced its district rival Pearland Oilers, the Eagles coach depended on his kicker to win the game. With a 30-yard field goal with 1 minute and eight seconds remaining in the game, the Eagles beat the Oilers 38-35, thanks to kicker Claire Jeffress, your Greater Houston Honda Dealers Player of the Week.
The win for the Eagles gave the team a 5-1 record.
Jeffress not only kicked the game-winning field goal, but she was also named the homecoming queen.
"It really represented everyone had to do their part to get where we got and the snap had to be good, hold had to be good," said Jeffress in an interview with FOX 26 News reporter Nate Griffin.
