Former Rice Owls star Paul Janish, who has played in 14 games for the Baltimore Orioles during the 2017 season, is expected to join the Owls staff, according to Major League Baseball sources.

Janish is currently on the roster of Triple-A Norfolk in the Orioles organization.

In 9 years in the Major Leagues, Janish has played in 473 games and hit .212, with seven home runs and 87 RBIs.

He was on the Reds postseason roster in 2010 and the Braves playoff roster in 2013.

According to MLB sources, Janish is expected to join Rice coach Wayne Graham’s staff following the 2017 season.
