Manvel duo named Under Armour All-Americans

On Tuesday, Manvel's Austin Myers and Deontay Anderson were named Under Armour All-Americans.

The Under Armour All-American Game is widely viewed as one of the more elite national high school football showcases around.

Myers is an offensive lineman verbally committed to TCU.

"It means a lot to me," Myers said of being an Under Armour All-American. "It's a great honor.

"I mean, it was a great feeling (to put on that jersey)," he added. "I've never had a feeling so great."

Anderson is one of the most coveted recruits in the Houston area and around the nation. Rivals.com ranks Anderson the third-best Houston-area recruit and ranks the safety the 63rd top prospect nationally, regardless the position. Anderson has LSU, USC, Texas, Texas A&M, and Ole Miss in his top five. On Tuesday, however, the excitement was about becoming an Under Armour All-American.

"It's a blessing," Anderson said. "I've been wanting to do this, I've been thinking about it, ever since I was little. God came and just blessed me.

"It feels great," Anderson added. "It feels like your hard work is paying off. I still have a lot more stuff to do, but it's a refreshing feeling (to get recognition like this)."

The Under Armour All-American Game will be played on January 2 in Orlando.
