KISSIMMEE, FL (FOX 26) - Jon Singleton has dominated the minor leagues. He's looking for that to translate to the big leagues for the Astros in 2016.
Singleton has been viewed as one of the Astros' shining stars in the system as he's progressed through the minors. In 2014, Singleton had 14 home runs and 43 RBI in 54 games at Triple-A Oklahoma City. In 2015, in 102 games at Triple-A Fresno, Singleton had 22 home runs and 83 RBI.
However, in the majors, Singleton's career thus far has been known more for his strikeouts than his home runs. In 114 big-league games spanning the last two seasons, Singleton has batted .171 with 14 home runs, 50 RBI, and 151 strikeouts.
Singleton is hoping to learn from the past few years and have himself a breakthrough 2016.
