SAN ANTONIO (FOX 26) - Astros outfielder Colby Rasmus gave San Antonio Whataburger patrons quite the surprise on Tuesday.
Rasmus was there as part of the Astros caravan. The outfielder was one of the big Astros' postseason heroes from a year ago, when he hit .429 with three home runs in five games during the ALDS against the Royals. For his efforts, Rasmus received a new one-year deal worth about $16 million dollars during the offseason.
However, it's not the money that has Rasmus excited about the coming season.
"I want to get back to the playoffs and pop bottles again and get my goggles and let my hair flow," Rasmus said. "That was a blast. That was the most fun... I've had some good times in my baseball career, but that was definitely in the top. So whatever, how much money it is and all those different things... I just want to go out and play, man.
"I love all my teammates. I love all my coaches. Stay positive. And I think collectively, as a group, if we do that, we're going to be where we want to be."
