The Astros are making good on their desire to improve their bullpen.
FOX 26 Sports Director Mark Berman received breaking information from Major League Baseball sources earlier on Wednesday evening. Berman was told the Astros are acquiring closer Ken Giles from the Phillies for Vince Velasquez, Brett Oberholtzer, and minor-league outfielder Derek Fisher, pending successful completion of their physicals. There are media reports of a fourth player being involved. Last season with the Phillies, Giles had 15 saves with a 1.80 ERA.
