Mystery man living in Iraq wins $6.4M Oregon lottery jackpot

After hitting the $6.4 million jackpot, an Oregon lottery winner took more than three months to claim his prize. But he had a very good reason for being late — he lives in Iraq.

The Iraqi national's name is not being released because he convinced lottery officials that it would pose a personal safety risk to him and his family, since they live in Baghdad, one of the most dangerous cities on the planet.

Trace Gallagher revealed on "Shepard Smith Reporting" that the man purchased the lottery ticket through the Israel-based website theLotter.com, which sends people to buy lottery tickets around the world for customers and charges a fee.

Gallagher added that the actual ticket never left Oregon, and was being held by someone in the city of Bend.
