GALVESTON, Texas (FOX 26) - An act of kindness was caught on camera in Galveston as some fishermen helped a shark swim free.
Paola Davila was visiting the pier with her husband when they saw three fishermen reeling in something big. She says what they thought was a big fish was actually a 7-foot tiger shark.
The men wanted to set the shark free and did everything the could to keep the female shark safe while trying to release her, Davila says. Even though it took them almost an hour, the men were able to drag the female shark from along the pier to the shallow water.
They then got into the water to unhook her and make sure she was able to swim off.
The crowd watching applauded when the men cut her loose and she swam away.
