#DearDaddy video geared toward raising gentlemen sparks mixed reactions

- A powerful public service announcement from Care Norway, the Norwegian branch of charity Care International, is starting to go viral in the US, after the original-language version had similar viral success in Scandinavia after being uploaded to YouTube on December 4.

The video, called #DearDaddy, shows a female narrator talking to her father about the different treatment girls and women may receive through different stages in their lives, from hurtful jokes in middle school to rape to domestic abuse.

The PSA urges fathers to step in and teach their sons that this behavior is not acceptable. The video earned positive responses on social media outlets like Twitter; however, comments below the video on YouTube are not so approving. Many commenters said the video was sexist against men and portrayed all males as rapists and abusers. One YouTube user even re-edited the video with a voiceover from a man addressing his father to show an alternative perspective.
