Authorities rescue injured eagle trapped in storm drain

Officers with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission rescued an injured eagles that was trapped inside a storm drain in Orlando, Florida. 

Orange County Fire Rescue was alerted after the two eagles were spotted on the ground along Goldenrod Road, near Curry Ford Road.  One of the eagles appeared to be injured while the other appeared healthy and was perched nearby.

Firefighters cleared an area around the drain and partially blocked traffic on Goldenrod Road while FWC staged the rescue.  The healthy eagle flew away as rescuers approached the scene.  The injured eagle was expected to be taken to the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey in Maitland, Florida for assessment.
