YMCA Operation Backpack kicks off
The YMCA of Great Houston is launching their annual school supply drive.
Operation Backpack aims to provide school supplies and backpacks to 120,000 children.
YMCA of Great Houston is hosting their kick-off event for the drive on Tuesday. More than 100 kids will hand-pick supplies and stuff backpacks to prepare for the new school year.
The YMCA says the drive is important because school supplies can cost $200 for students and some parents cannot afford to purchase the necessary items.
