Pregnant woman shot in the head in Tomball
HOUSTON (FOX 26) - A pregnant woman was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Medical Center after authorities found her with severe head trauma inside a Tomball home.
Authorities said the pregnant woman was on the phone with her mother when the mother heard something over the phone -- authorities wouldn't clarify what -- that made her rush over to the pregnant woman's home and call police.
Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies said around 1 p.m., they received the call and after arriving at the home and finding the doors locked, authorities had to make a forced entry.
Deputies said they found a woman, estimated to be in her 20s, with blunt force trauma to her head, possibly from a gun shot.
Authorities also tell us they don't believe anyone else was in the house when they came in.
Neighbors said it's usually a quiet neighborhood and that they were shocked to come home to this.
Sources told Fox 26 News that the woman is about 7 months pregnant and that as of Monday night, she was in stable condition.
