Woman killed in hit-and-run while leaving rodeo cook-off

Police say a woman was killed in a hit-and-run while leaving the rodeo barbecue cook-off at NRG Park around midnight.

Police say the 30-year-old woman was trying to cross the 610 Loop and made it across the westbound lanes before being struck by a black pickup truck while trying to cross the eastbound lanes. She died at the hospital.

Police say the driver who hit her never stopped. The only description of the vehicle at this time is a black pickup truck.

Police want to remind the public that there is a pedestrian bridge from NRG Stadium to the parking lots and you should never try to cross 610.
