Woman intentionally struck repeatedly by vehicle, driver missing

It is still surreal to anyone who witnessed it.

"It happened so fast," said Pshana Trane. "It was from the corner, we saw her running and screaming and he was right behind her and bam!" It was at around 11 p.m. on Sunday in an apartment complex on Long Drive. Witnesses say her attacker drove a vehicle over her, performed a u-turn and drove it over her not once, not twice, but three more times as people watched in horror.

“It, it, It, it was a shame and all we could do was run to her aid because she was screaming and hollering for help,” added Trane.

After she was struck by the vehicle a fourth time, he drove away into the night. This was no random crime. The 40-year-old woman was able to tell people that her attacker was a former coworker. She is in the hospital with what police say are calling life-threatening injuries. Her son Michael visited her there on Monday morning. He told FOX 26 News that he does not know much about the man named Rujelio, except that he was his mother's coworker.

But the violence of the attack and the vandalism to her car suggests there might be something more. Regardless,  Michael said he underestimated the toughness of this mother to seven children.

“I'm trying not to be upset because it's my mom and I know my mom is tougher than this," added Michael. "I know she's going to be OK. It'll take more than that.”

Police have recovered the vehicle that struck the woman, but the driver has not been found.
