Houston Ministers Against Crime offer support to the wounded deputy, his family and those investigating the shooting.

"We are wanting the law enforcement community to know that the community supports them 140-percent." Said Reverend Robert Gilmore.

The shooting happened around 11:2O last night. A female Pct 7 deputy had just finished a traffic stop, when she was talking to her partner who was standing on the passenger's side about an issue with her DASHCAM. That's when six shots rang out in the dark. Four of them hit deputy Alden Clopman who collapsed. The other deputy took action.

"When the deputy  exited the vehicle she saw the suspect and that's when she returned fire." Said HPD spokesperson Kese Smith.

She missed.

A short time later a man matching the shooter's description showed up at this fire station. By late afternoon he was still not under arrest. Detectives spent the day searching across the street for shell casings and other evidence.

They also looked over surveillance video from the store where it happened.

There is a strange coincidence here. Alden Clopton is the brother of Craig Clopton. He's a former homicide detective  booted from the sheriff's office after it was revealed he was having and affair with the alleged  mistress of Slain Deputy Darren Goforth. Clopton was investigating his murder.

Back at the scene the ministers were talking about a different kind of coincidence. Yet another shooting in this neighborhood.

"We've got to stop letting the propaganda talking about the white man is against us. We're against ourselves. You can't clean up nobody else's house till you clean up your own." said Gerald Davis.
