SPRING, Texas (FOX 26) - “It came out of a storage unit on the north side of Spring,” said Tony Alonzo. He said his wife bought the contents of that storage unit sight unseen.
Inside the box, he found something that’s of no value to anyone except for the family of a soldier named Cleatus Wilkinson.
“You got stripes, a couple of medals and decorations and I guess his picture and a Western Union Telegram," described Alonzo.
The telegram was sent to Laura Wilkinson.
It states, "Back at last, all well here, short time then home, Love, Cleatus."
“It’s a shame to lose something like that,” said Alonzo. “I thought I’d put it on Facebook. We called the storage unit and they were going to try to get in contact with the people but so far nobody’s called."
Alonzo said he would love to find the soldier's relatives so he can give them his memories.
“I’m a true believer in veterans." said Alonzo. "I thank them every day.”
