Two boaters who were reported missing on Tuesday and last seen on Monday have been found alive on an oil platform in Galveston Bay. They will be brought by helicopter to Ellington Airport.

United States Coast Guard air and boat crews are conducted a search on Tuesday for 51-year-old Michael Watkins and Raymond Janik in the areas of Galveston Bay, Trinity Bay and East Bay. The two men were last seen aboard a white and red 20-foot Larson boat with a blue top.

The families of the boaters contacted the Galveston County Sheriff's Office at approximately 9 a.m. on Tuesday, after the men had not returned from fishing on Monday.

The sheriff's office notified USCG Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders. The initial report stated that the boaters had departed from the Bayshore Park boat ramp at around 7 a.m. Monday and were scheduled to return at around 1 p.m. Monday.

Crews aboard Station Houston and Station Galveston 29-foot response boats and aircrews aboard an Air Station Houston MH-65 Dolphin helicopter and an Air Station Corpus Christi HC-144 Ocean Sentry airplane were used in the search effort.

Galveston County deputies found the truck and trailer at the boat ramp on Tuesday morning.
