Deputies have placed a perimeter around a Chase Bank branch in northwest Harris County following a robbery attempt. An off-duty Houston Police Department officer, who was working a security job at the bank, was forced to fire his weapon.
Two men walked into the bank on the State Highway 249 frontage road near Cypresswood Drive at around 2:49 p.m. Thursday and one of them is described as having worn a red bandana, black hat and jeans.
Deputies later took one of the suspects into custody across the highway from the bank. That suspect was injured by a K-9 officer.
