Two fatal early morning accidents on Houston roadways

- A father is dead after the moving truck her was driving crashed into an 18-wheeler on the North Freeway. It happened around 1:30 this morning near Gillespie. The man lost control of the truck and hit a guardrail, causing the accident. The man’s two sons, a five-year-old and a two-year-old were also in the vehicle. Police say the five-year-old helped them with the investigation.


“He was a trooper. He was ejected from the vehicle and was sitting down and talking to us, giving us everyone’s name. His little brother’s name, was asking about his father. Unfortunately and  gave everybody’s name, his mother’s name. He helped us out a lot to piece together things we wouldn’t have known.


Police say the family was moving to Galveston. Their mother was driving a separate vehicle that was not involved in the accident. The two little boys are expected to be okay. One has severe burns and is recovering at an area hospital.


A fatal motorcycle wreck on the Pierce elevated bridge in downtown Houston. Police say a man riding his motorcycle was on the freeway above the intersection when he lost control and went over the barrier wall. He fell to the ground and died.
