President Obama says, "the threat from terrorism is real, but we will overcome it." The president addressed the nation last night in a rare oval office speech.

He asked Americans to not turn against Muslims at home, saying the Islamic state is driven by a desire to spark a war between the west and Islam.

        Yesterday, police say the attackers smashed vehicles and equipment. In all 13 people were hurt. The attackers used pepper spray on staff members, beat them with clubs and dumped them outside where temperatures were below freezing.

        According to authorities, the violence was sparked by a land dispute. Police say speeding was factor in a wreck that killed a man on FM 529.

        Last night, deputies say the man was trying to pass a vehicle when he lost control of his car, drove into a ditch and crashed into a utility pole. The man died at the scene.

 

A blown-out tire is being blamed for the emergency landing of a plane carrying actor Morgan Freeman.

        The plane was in route to sugar land when it made the emergency landing Saturday night last in Mississippi.

        Freeman was coming to Texas to shoot a segment for the series, "the story of god." No one was hurt.
