- Man's body was discovered along the side of the road on Marvell and Aiken. Neighbor’s heard gun shots and saw a white-colored car leaving the scene. The man was shot at least two times. If you know anything, call the Harris county sheriff's office. An electrical short in the wall of an apartment sparked a fire in west Houston.

  Lasts nights fire was contained to only one third-floor unit on Westheimer and old farm road. But the units below it suffered water and smoke damage. All six units were affected. No one was hurt. Oday the HISD board of education is scheduled to vote on a plan to hire a search firm to help find a replacement for outgoing superintendent terry Grier. The firm will gather input from various district stakeholders, including parents and students, school-based staff, district employees, and business and community members. Doctor Grier plans to step down at the end of February.

 According to a new report by the house armed services committee, the Obama administration misled congress about the release of U.S Army Sargent Bowe Bergdahl.

The 98-page report found no evidence that a ransom was ever attempted or paid to secure the soldier's release. In exchange for his freedom, five Taliban detainees at Guantanamo Bay were released. The report found transfer violated the national defense authorization act.
