Top stories this morning 11/9

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - A man caught hiding on top of a roof in southwest Houston. Police say they received a call around 3 a.m. at a home on Portsmouth. A resident there said someone was on top of his roof when police arrived they found the man hiding out.  He told police he was hiding because a group of men on Richmond started following and chasing him. HPD is still trying to investigate.  A somber day is expected on campus at New Caney high school, as a student is being remembered.

                Jose Damian, a sophomore, was killed early Sunday morning, while changing a tire on the Eastex freeway. The driver of the car that hit him is now charged with intoxication manslaughter.  Damian just turned 17 years old last Friday.

Austin police are searching for the person who shot a prominent judge. District judge Julie Kocurek was shot Friday night outside of her home.  Kocurek is recovering in the hospital. She was appointed to the court by then governor George W. Bush in 1999.
