A Houston police officer shot and killed a suspect during a traffic stop in the third ward.

            Investigators tell us two officers pulled over the driver near drew and Nettleton.

            One of the officers says the driver reached in his pocket for a gun and that's when the officer opened fire.

           

 

It was election night in Houston. In the mayoral race State representative Sylvester Turner got the top votes with 32 percent. Next month, he'll run off against former Kemah mayor bill king in a run for Houston’s next mayor. King finished second with 25% of the vote.

 

Voters have rejected the Houston equal rights ordinance. The votes were 39% in favor, and 61% opposed. Most opposed to the bill say they were worried about men being allowed to use women's public restrooms. Those supporting hero say it would provide nondiscrimination protection for gay and transgender people.

 

Bill Cosby could soon be facing charges. Democrat Kevin Steele will lead the office that's reopened a 2005 sexual-assault complaint filed against Cosby.

            Prosecutors have until January to file charges in the 2004 encounter at Cosby's gated home near Philadelphia.
