U.S officials are trying to confirm whether a key Islamic state militant is dead. A drone strike, targeting jihadi john, is believed to have killed him in Syria. The British man appeared in several videos, showing the beheadings of western hostages.      

 

Houston police investigators want to know who shot a man near the galleria late last night along Beverly Hill. The man was taken to Memorial Herman in critical condition. No word on the motive or the shooter.

 

The La Marque independent school district will close its doors next July. It’s an order from the Texas education agency. The district has faced academic and financial problems. The school board and superintendent have already been removed, and replaced with a different group of leaders.

 

Subway's former pitchman could spend more than a dozen years in prison.

          Federal prosecutors filed paperwork, saying they'll seek a sentence against Jared Fogle.
