HOUSTON (FOX 26) - An air conditioning unit is to blame after flames broke out at a northwest Harris county hotel. It happened early this morning at the comfort suites on 249 at Louetta.

        Klein fire crews say the fire was contained to one room and the people inside were treated for possible smoke inhalation. The entire building was evacuated while crews put the fire out.

Police are investigating a possible murder-suicide after finding the bodies of three people in meadows place.

        Police say a man returned home to find two women and one man dead in a home on Dorrance Street. Two children were in the home, but they were not hurt. Police say there were signs of violence in the struggle.

Houston's top cop- chief Charles Mcclelland says he is retiring after 39 years on the force. Chief McClelland has managed the fifth largest police department in the country for the past six years.

        Mayor Sylvester turner says he'll name an interim chief by McClelland’s last day on February 26th.

Uber has shut down in Galveston. According to the daily news, customers who tried to use the service got a message saying quote "due to new regulations passed by the Galveston city council, Uber is no longer available in the city." Last week, councilmembers passed an ordinance, designed to regulate transportation networks.It includes ride-hailing companies to apply for operators' licenses and drivers to get chauffeurs' licenses.
