HOUSTON (FOX 26) - A man is dead after being shot by a homeowner. Houston police say the homeowner told the man, who may have been drunk, to leave his home several times before he allegedly tried to break down the front door. That's when the homeowner grabbed his gun, and shot the man; he died at the scene. No charges are expected to be filed against the homeowner. 

The University of Houston has issued a security alert after a student was robbed on campus. UH Police say he was approached by 5 guys who robbed him at gunpoint in the parking lot near Wheeler and MLK. They took his keys and his car. His vehicle was found a short time later, but the robbers got away. 

The NFL playoffs continue right here on FOX 26. Today, Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints will play Nick Foles and the Philadelphia Eagles. The winner of today's game will play the LA Rams after they beat the Dallas Cowboys Saturday night. Coverage of today's matchup starts at 3:00 PM. Right here on Fox 26.
