A 2-year-old little girl died here in Houston last week. Little Gisselle Ayleen Gomez was in an apartment according to firefighters with her mother and older brother. Mom told investigators when she woke up there was smoke so she ran outside for help, and when she tried to go back in to get her daughter it was too late.
Twenty units were destroyed at Landing Apartments in southwest Houston. Now the family says in a lawsuit it could have been prevented with a simple thing -- smoke detectors.
On the Factor is attorney Tony Buzbee, who's representing the Gomez family.
